ICA Quickfire: A Discussion About the Pussy Riot Case

Next Tuesday we’re hosting a debate around the recent Pussy Riot case and reviewing its impact on contemporary culture and freedom of speech. The conversation between broadcaster and solicitor Mark Stephens, a specialist in human rights, Index on Censorship CEO Kirsty Hughes and independent curator and art historian Nadim Samman will address the far-reaching consequences of the case. Focusing on the inalienable right of individuals to express their views freely and to receive a fair trial – the discussion will also touch on the complexities of the legal case, alongside other similarly controversial incidents relating to artists’ actions.
The talk is free to ICA Members and tickets are only £3 for non-members.
